Management of Nursing Care
- Awareness of departmental vision, mission, objectives, and implementation.
- Perform duties as per the role and expectation of a nurse in providing comprehensive patient care.
- Knowledge of unit layout, number of patients, and their requirements.
- Maintain co-operation and team spirit with staff members.
- Perform assigned duties as per the department's protocol and maintain all unit registers.
- Accurate knowledge about forms/formats and perform special assignments as rostered.
- Ensure clients are provided with information for informed decisions; care must reflect client preferences.
- Able to discuss ethical issues with clients/families and the healthcare team.
- Ensure documentation is current, accurate, timely, and maintains confidentiality.
- Demonstrate computer skills to organize data for care delivery.
- Evaluate client's progress, treatments, and health education in collaboration with the team.
- Take appropriate nursing actions in emergency situations.
- Maintain own professional development, mandatory requirements, and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Duties are rostered and rotating (24-hour, 7-day service).
Soft Skills & Critical Thinking
- Demonstrate knowledge of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank) and GST (Greet, Smile, Thank).
- Utilize effective communication skills and maintain telephone etiquette.
- Maintain professional decorum and communicate in English/Hindi.
- Inform Supervisor of current unit activities and report unusual occurrences or incidents.
- Utilize shift changes to effectively communicate patient conditions and interventions.
- Ensure all documentation is clear, concise, timely, and uses appropriate clinical terminology.
Professional Responsibility & Safety
- Practice safely based on professional, ethical, and legal standards.
- Demonstrate commitment to Medanta patients and their health improvement.
- Practice nursing in a culturally safe manner.
- Promote an environment enabling client safety, independence, and quality of life.
- Participate in regular Performance Reviews and contribute to peer reviews.
- Maintain infection control principles.
- Evaluate environmental safety, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
Nursing Admission Assessment
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessment (clinical condition, pain, ADLs, allergies, safety needs, etc.).
- Follow hospital policy regarding safety, personal belongings, medico-legal entities, and medications.
- Assess vital signs and report abnormalities to the consultant/team.
- Accurately document nursing assessment using appropriate clinical terminology.
- Assess and communicate educational, spiritual, pain management, and dietary needs.
- Involve and educate family members in the future plan of care.
- Communicate effectively, positively, and courteously with clients and the healthcare team.
