Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection process consists of Tier-I (Online MCQ) and Tier-II (Descriptive, Qualifying) exams.

  • Tier-I Exam: 100 Questions, 100 Marks, 1 Hour. Subjects: General Awareness (40), Quantitative Aptitude (20), Numerical/Analytical/Logical ability & Reasoning (20), English Language (20).
  • Negative Marking: ¼ mark for each wrong answer in Tier-I.
  • Tier-II Exam: Descriptive Test on English Language and Comprehension (50 Marks, 1 Hour). Qualifying marks: 20/50.
  • Salary: Level-1 (₹18,000-56,900) + 20% Special Security Allowance + other Govt. allowances.

  • Valid Email & Mobile: Candidates must have a valid personal email ID and mobile number kept active throughout the process.
  • Online Registration: Applications must be submitted ONLINE via www.mha.gov.in or NCS portal.
  • Documents: Keep scanned photo (100-200KB), signature (80-150KB), ID proof, and Class X/XII certificates ready.
  • Step-I: Register Personal and Contact details to get Login ID and Password.
  • Step-II: Re-login, fill details, upload documents, and pay fees via SBI EPAY LITE.
  • Note: SIB once opted will NOT be changed. Application fee is non-refundable.
